Culture & Arts
Buildings that are devoted to culture and the arts must provide
an attractive and flexible backdrop for the art form, as well as
a humanistic setting for the people who will use these spaces.
Arts centers are frequently required to reconfigure their spaces
on short notice to adapt to varying uses. Lighting must be specifically
designed to preserve artwork and suit multiple needs housed under
one roof. Daylight, artificial or filtered light, and state-of-the-art
computerized stage lighting may all be found in the same facility.
Variety of light, spaces, scale and views are taken into consideration
when designing systems components that affect acoustical properties
of buildings that house the arts. HVAC systems must be quiet and
provide for the specialized environmental needs of the facility.
