Excellence – Innovation – Teamwork

It is a tremendous honor that the Harvard University Science and Engineering Complex (SEC) is the 2021 SEFA Lab of the Year.  The SEFA Lab-of-the-Year™ Award expresses the highest honor that can be given to a laboratory building, bringing enormous pride to everyone who participated in this effort.

This project demonstrates the team’s success in providing cutting-edge laboratory spaces for both research and teaching, while achieving the highest sustainable targets having received LEED Platinum and Living Building Challenge Petals.  It includes new and innovative features that will impact the design of future laboratories in years to come, but above all it creates new benchmarks for future building development.
