We are saddened to share the passing of Charles “Charlie” Billmyer, a former Principal at van Zelm who served the firm from 1961 to 1994. Charlie led our Electrical Department for many years and was widely recognized as one of the region’s most accomplished electrical engineers.
Throughout his career, Charlie contributed to many significant projects across New England and beyond, including the iconic Gateway Arch in St. Louis, along with work for Trinity College, Yale University, Williams College, UConn, and many others. His dedication to the profession, commitment to clients, and technical excellence left a lasting mark on our firm and on the engineering community.
Charlie’s legacy continues through the many projects he helped shape and the colleagues he mentored throughout his career. We are grateful for his many years of service and his important contributions to van Zelm. Our thoughts are with all who knew and worked with him.
