ENERGY ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit project sites to interface with clients and collect data.
  • Attend meetings both at office and at client facilities.
  • Assist in project management as needed.
  • Concurrently work on multiple projects prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and project requirements.
  • work as part of a cross functional team of engineering and designers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Related Building Science Degree is required.
  • Professional Registration (PE) or EIT preferred.
  • CEM or LEED Accreditations preferred. Minimum 6 Years Energy Analysis Experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office software, in particular use of Excel for complex analysis.
  • Ability to manage projects and supervise and/or direct subordinate staff. Knowledge of the Design of Mechanical and Electrical Systems for Commercial, Institutional and Light Industrial Facilities as Related to Energy Conservation and Efficiency.
  • Experience in the Evaluation and Analysis of Energy Consuming Systems and Operating Characteristics. Experience with Analysis of Annual Operating Costs for Comparative System Analysis, including Life Cycle Cost Analysis. Knowledge of Renewable Energy Systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) and Controls, HVAC Systems and Lighting. Proficiency with USGBC LEED Process for New and Existing Buildings, including Energy Modeling.
  • Proficient with use of Energy Modeling software such as EQUEST, DOE2, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP or Energy Plus. Experience with Building Envelope Construction and Evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Carbon Footprint Analysis and Carbon Offsets.
  • Ability to prepare reports and develop both written and graphic content.
  • Experience with ASHRAE Levels 1, 2 and 3 Building Audits.

COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and organize projects to deliver exceptional quality commissioning services that meet cost constraints, time schedules, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate all activities and interfaces to ensure the quality control for mechanical and electrical designs and deliver a product that meet client expectations.
  • As necessary, provide marketing assistance to the Principals.
  • Prepare or manage the development of design and construction phase commissioning plans.
  • Perform design and construction document reviews.
  • Develop and conduct system pre-functional and functional performance tests.
  • Perform site visits and write detailed field reports.
  • Conduct commissioning meetings.
  • Work with contractors and engineers to resolve design and operating issues.
  • Organize and assist in the development of user training sessions.
  • Prepare final commissioning reports documenting all commissioning activities, deficiencies noted, recommendations, etc.
  • Review Operations and Maintenance manuals for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare System Manual for all commissioned systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of at least 5 years experience
  • Position will be responsible for successful client relations, project planning, organization, control, and technical quality of assigned projects
  • Educational knowledge of ASHRAE Guidelines.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills and the ability to speak with confidence to contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Knowledge of testing and balancing procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical and life safety systems a plus.
  • Strong verbal, technical writing skills required.
  • Must have good computer skills and the ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Educational knowledge of LEED preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical (or electrical) engineering preferred.

PLUMBING AND FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide design and layout expertise to projects as assigned.
  • Make and document calculations based on equipment and other job requirements.
  • Develop design concepts into working drawings, coordination with Architect, structure and other trades.
  • Concurrently work on multiple projects prioritizing tasks based on deadlines and project requirements.
  • Work as part of a cross functional team of engineering and designers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in the Plumbing and Fire Protection field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • REVIT / AutoCAD required.
  • Active Professional Engineering License desirable, but not required.
  • Experience in the design of building systems in the following areas: Corporate and Institutional; Colleges and Universities; Public and Private Schools; Hospitals; Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and Biomedical; Arts and Cultural as well as Historic and Adaptive Reuse.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consistent Recruiting, Hiring & On-Boarding of excellent staff.
  • Employee Development and Performance, including administration of the review process.
  • Employee Recognition & Engagement, including Wellness Initiatives and Employee Relations events.
  • Training, counseling, and coaching staff.
  • Maintain and implement policies and maintain employee communications.

  • Experience with Paylocity, and Deltek Software helpful but not required.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be highly confidential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and employees.
