Pilot House – Energy Modeling For Leed

van Zelm developed an Energy Model of the existing 68,000 square foot building for comparison against an ASHRAE 90.1 – 2010 Baseline, and projected a significant savings cost for LEED EBOM Recertification, as prescribed by the Building Performance Rating Method. Additionally, this project involved developing energy efficiency improvement measures, life cycle costs and producing a report to comply with ASHRAE Level II standards. Building mechanical systems, including (but not limited to) heating, ventilating, air conditioning, exhaust systems, energy recovery systems, building management systems, lighting, pumping and other electrical systems were evaluated for energy efficiency improvements. The effect of solar panels on the building’s electrical energy consumption, as well as the drop in heating and cooling loads was analyzed.
