Tradeline Article – New Dartmouth College Building Designed as Global Benchmark for Sustainability

We are delighted to share with you an article in Tradeline on one of our recent projects at the Dartmouth College campus.

The Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society in Hanover, NH is a beacon for sustainability at Dartmouth College. It was designed for groundbreaking performance and efficiency, with an expectation of achieving an energy use intensity (EUI) of approximately 18 compared to an average of 130 at other campus buildings.

The article is a result of a presentation at Tradeline’s Research Facilities Conference in Boston.  van Zelm’s Eric Fontaine, PE and Goody Clancy’s Elaine Hoffman, AIA, LEED AP, CPHC and Arjun Mande, AIA, LEED AP BD+C presented “Raising the Bar: Sustainability Facility Design for Energy Research and Innovation” at the conference.  Joined with them was Stephen Doig, PhD, Research Director of the Irving Institute.
