A National Corporate Office

Lobby and Cafeteria Renovation – Modernization: Southeastern US

A major national corporation is currently incorporating new workplace environments to attract and retain quality employees. Their projects vary in size and scope and include gathering areas, meeting rooms, agile space, a theater and assembly rooms. Overall workflow is analyzed prior to initiating a design strategy to create an activity-based collaboration environment for individual employees and team workspace.

A recently completed project in the southeastern US required a variety of environments for daily activities including huddle, interactive group, touch down and quiet space. A primary focus was the renovation and upgrade was the employee café on the fifth floor. The design relocated and enlarged the space to gain natural light and draw in employees for Town Hall meetings or to intermingle informally.

Working on a limited budget required creative solutions. Open areas were differentiated by using colorful panels to create intimate gathering spaces and private nooks for quiet work. Bright accent walls, write-on surfaces and large flat screen TVs were also integrated throughout the space.

The MEP design included multiple phases of construction which included extensive modifications to the building infrastructure to support a conversion to exposed structure.

Energy efficiency upgrades included daylight dimming and occupancy controls for new led lighting.
